This story evolves around a 31 year old named Cali. Cali was a rebellious child that grew up with her mother Maxine Jackson and sister Lori Hippler. Her unruly actions got her in trouble in school and church...Lori, Cali’s baby sister, is a powerful Christian woman who ministers to those throughout the stor...y including Cali.
Cali begins by having home church at the same time she’s having personal issues and can’t be told anything since she’s set in their ways. So Mixed Messages focuses on the unchurched and how they refused to be churched because of all the things that go on in church. It’s also for those who haven’t found the right one.

Cali just graduated from college receiving her Master's in Psychology. She decides to get her family together for a party to celebrate her victory. Her family ends up invited several unwanted guests and the party turns into a wild fiasco when her father, Sonny, comes with his new fiance! Sonny is a carefree alcoholic and regardless Cali loves her father despite his ways. She later finds out some disturbing news that could alter their relationship.
